TAL 2019 TOURS Tribal Art London Fair 2019 is excited to announce three tours as part of its event programme. Each tour will be conducted by a passionate Tribal expert. Tours are free however please note entry to the fair is £5, which includes the fair catalogue. Profits from the entry fee are donated to TAL's fair charity partner EdUKaid. Joss Graham - Textile Specialist Wednesday 4th Sept 2:30 Joss Graham opened his shop in central London in 1980. It has since become a well-knowndestination for collectors, travellers, interior designers and all those who have a passion forhandmade fabrics from around the world.Specialising in traditional textiles and costume from the Indian subcontinent, Central Asia, Tibet,North and West Africa, the repertoire has expanded over the years to incorporate paintings, wood and stone sculpture, ceramics, baskets and jewellery.Joss’s tour will focus on many of the fine pieces of textile on show at TAL, their uses, hidden iconography and history of craftsmanship. ​ Ronnie Archer Morgan - Expert on The Antiques Road Show Thursday 5th Sept 2:30Ronnie Archer-Morgan has been working in the antique business for 30 years. Well known as an expert on The Antiques Road Show, he is an independent specialist working largely for private clients and galleries. He has a particular interest in locating and identifying ethnic, tribal and folk art.Ronnie’s tour follows the theme of this year’s TAL fair; Mother, Muse and Maker identifying objects on show that celebrate women and their role in Tribal culture. ​ Jonathan Lowen - Well know Tribal Art Collector  Friday 6th Sept 2.30pm‘Twists and Turns’ - snakes and their significance in the carving of status anddiviners staffs in Southern Africa.Well, known African tribal art collector, Jonathan Lowen will offer his personalinterpretation on the potency of these objects that goes beyond their simple appearance. ​ ​ ​                 ​

This project is designed to engage tourists to London in the art history and diverse culture by introducing world-renowned British museums and collections. We would like to invite you to join our private guided tours and discover the rich knowledge beyond normal visits. Free lectures will also be given in our art centre with talks and discussions. For audience that cannot attend the tours, please go to our Youtube/Instagram channels and Wechat/Weibo platforms to see some most important works of the museums and galleries. In the case that we do not have enough RSVP’s, the event will be cancelled and your ticket will be fully refunded to your original payment method. ******** [IMPORTANT] Photography and/or filming will take place from time to time in our events/workshops. The photographs and films will be used by us for the purpose of promoting our activities and may be published on our websites and circulated to the press and other media organisations for publication, transmission or broadcast. If you do not wish to appear in the photographs or films, please contact our staff before the events/workshops. The meeting point of the tour is: TURBINE HALL of Tate Modern.
