This is a two-day course in outdoor first aid suitable for professionals and outdoor enthusiasts alike.
It is highly practical and hands-on, with chance to use equipment and techniques in outdoor settings. As such participants should dress accordingly to be outdoors in the elements all day on the second day of the course.
The course fulfills the criteria for the Mountain Training Association Mountain Leader and Single Pitch Awards as well as the British Canoeing awards and a range of other National Governing Body Award Schemes and Forest Schools. Complies with the Institute of Outdoor Learning criteria for Band 3 Outdoor First Aid. Includes Use of AED. CLIMBING FOR EVERYONE IN THE HEART OF MANCHESTERWhether you're a complete beginner or a world cup champion we have something for everyone.
Rock Over Climbing has been open for 8 fantastic years. Through continued expansion we now have one of the largest bouldering centres in the UK, a dedicated rope wall, cafe, soft play and are home to the official GB Team training wall.
Please note, however, that a substantial amount of the course will be delivered out of doors, and you should, therefore, dress appropriately for the elements. As muddy boots will not be allowed indoors, you may also want to bring a pair of indoor shoes to wear about the centre.
Booking Terms and Conditions
The course meets all the due diligence requirements of the HSE, outdoor national governing bodies and the Institute of Outdoor Learning. Copies of documentation and trainer credentials available on request. The course tutor is a current First Responder and qualified trainer and assessor with many years experience working in the outdoors with all ages and at all levels, and is a former Mountain Rescue Team member, having served in the Lake District.

Legend tells of a young girl and a young boy, whose love overcame even the coldest of winters...
Now winter has come to London, but even as people bustle around doing their Christmas shopping there is another sort of chill in the air. No one quite knows what causes it but there is a whisper on the wind… the Snow Queen has returned. As the cold sets in, a gloom descends over London and the general good cheer that Christmas brings seems empty and hollow.
But that which is frozen will eventually thaw… This January help us bring a little warmth back into the world. Join our brand new immersive game played right in the heart of London. Solve clues and complete ‘good-deeds’ so you can help spread kindness and defeat the cold of the Snow Queen.
For more information about our immersive games and the work we do, please visit our website or find us on Twitter @KomorabiGames to get in touch.
These games are being played in aid of Mary’s Meals ‘Backpack Project’. Part of the challenge will be to collect a series of items to fill a backpack to be sent to a child who needs resources for school.

CONDÉ NAST TRAVELLER INVITES YOU TO AN EVENING WITH ALDO KANE, IN ASSOCIATION WITH RADISSON COLLECTION.
JOIN THE DAREDEVIL EXPLORER AT LONDON’S MAY FAIR HOTEL TO LEARN MORE ABOUT HIS ADVENTURES FOR THE MOST INTREPID TELEVISION SHOWS.
There are some extreme outdoor types who do one thing very well, but then tend to do it over and over again, whether it’s walking across deserts or ascending precariously difficult mountain peaks. Aldo Kane, however, doesn’t fit into this category. The Scottish-born traveller served in the Royal Marines for a decade, seeing action in Iraq and the Middle East, before setting up his own gung-ho outfit to work with TV and movie teams in high-risk locations. He has guided a film crew with unflappable panache into an erupting volcano in the Democratic Republic of Congo (and out again), negotiated with twitchy-fingered drug lords in South America, raced against Ed Stafford through the Borneo mangrove swamps, and accompanied naturalist Steve Backshall into uncharted territory, from the Arctic mountainscapes of Greenland to the Surinamese jungle. In a scientific experiment for the BBC’s Horizon series he was locked in an abandoned nuclear bunker for 10 days – a novel way in which to digitally detox – and in 2016 he set two world records rowing across the Atlantic Ocean. The May Fair, a Radisson Collection hotel, is just the sort of place you’d want to return to after a hairy experience in the wild. Located in the heart of London, it was opened by King George V in 1927 and now includes a beautiful spa and outdoor terrace bar, as well as the May Fair Kitchen restaurant serving Spanish-Italian small plates.
6.30PM–8.30PM MONDAY 4 MARCH 2019
THE DANZIGER SUITE AT THE MAY FAIR HOTEL, STRATTON STREET, LONDON W1J 8LT
Tickets are £35 per person and include Champagne on arrival and a goodie bag.
CONDÉ NAST TRAVELLER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO POSTPONE THE EVENT IF RENDERED NECESSARY BY ANY UNAVOIDABLE CAUSE. TICKETS WILL BE FULLY REFUNDED IN SUCH CASES. PARTICIPANTS MUST BE 18 OR OLDER.
